Merry Wise is a certified Life Coach, survivor of narcissistic abuse, avid cross-stitcher for over 30 years, and cross-stitch designer. She is the face behind Bright Pink Ink and is dedicated to educating women on the dangers of psychological and narcissistic abuse.
She is a lover of art nouveau and the illustrations and advertisements from that era. Many of her designs reflect that love, as well as her love of fantasy... fairies, dragons and unicorns, in particular. She also enjoys watching fine art paintings and tapestries come to life under her hands as she stitches and injects her designs with this same passion.
At Bright Pink Ink every purchase supports her mission of educating women about the dangers of abuse and she is devoted to contributing to the emotional healing of survivors of abuse. Many of her charts are specifically designed to create a peaceful and serene feeling both while stitching and after the design has been created.
Many survivors of psychological abuse aren't aware of the abuse until they develop physical symptoms - exhaustion without a clear cause - commonly diagnosed as chronic fatigue syndrome, anxiety, depression, and gastric symptoms are commonly experienced by those being subjected to abuse. The abuse itself is often subtle and not easily recognizable until one begins researching the symptoms.
Contrary to popular belief, narcissists do not prey on the weak. They feed off of the energy of their victims and often look for those with a positive and upbeat view of life. Many survivors experience PTSD as a result of the abuse. Needlework is a time-honored method for dealing with PTSD and was first studied and applied to veterans of World War I.
